Art & Culture Programs at Islamic Cultural Center of Northern California (ICCNC)

 

Winter – Spring 2016

ICCNC—in partnership with Ziya Art Center and Silkworm Media—host entertaining and    informative events that feature Islamic cultures and creativity. The Spring 2016 Art & Culture season features book readings, art exhibitions, live podcasts and more! All events are in English, open to the public, and take place in our historic and welcoming space near Oakland’s Lake Merritt.

Special Series: Sixth Season of “Islam & Authors”

Come and listen to leading Muslim and non-Muslim writers as they present their latest works related to contemporary Islamic cultures and peoples. This season features issues straight from the headlines: refugees, racial equity, and worldwide Muslim youth culture. New partnerships this season include Muslim Writers Collective, Oakland Public Library and Refugee Transitions. Come and participate in conversations with the author, get books signed, and meet other audience members over refreshments.

“Rite of Passage” Environmental Art Exhibition Curated by Minoosh Zomorodinia and Arash Shirinbab

Exhibition is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 12 – 5 p.m.
