ICCNC is happy to announce an English class taught by our religious director, Dr. Rahim Nobahar, this fall.
Dr. Nobahar will teach an English-language Interpretation of the Qur’an (Tafsir) class. The class will meet Saturdays from 4-5:30 pm, beginning September 22nd, Inshallah and will continue through mid-December. We will begin with Chapter 49 (Surat Hujarat – The Private Rooms). Please bring a bilingual Qur’an (Arabic-English) if possible.
Dr. Nobahar has extensive traditional Islamic seminary education. From 1980-2001 he studied Islamic Jurisprudence, Qur’anic exegesis (tafsir) and Islamic Philosophy and Theology at Qom Seminary, Iran, and attained the highest degree in Islamic jurisprudence, ijtihad.
In addition, Dr. Nobahar received his BA and MA degrees in law from Mofid University, Qom, Iran, and his Ph.D. in Criminal Law and Criminology from Shahid Beheshti University, Tehran, in 2008. He has much experience teaching Arabic, logic, and Islam at Qom Seminary. As a faculty member at Mofid and Shahid Beheshti Universities, he taught different levels of Islamic courses, including Qur’anic exegesis.
